Issuer
Role: Issues verifiable credentials (VCs) representing your achievements, certifications, or attributes.
Focus: Accuracy and verifiability of issued VCs.
The Issuer is a trusted entity (organization) responsible for issuing verifiable credentials or attestations to Holders (individuals or entities) within the SSI ecosystem. They have the following responsibilities:
Define Credential Schemas: Develop VC schemas and credential definitions that specify the type of information included in the issued credentials (e.g., diploma, KYC verification).
Issue Credentials: Upon verification, issue verifiable credentials to Holders based on the defined schema. Issuers digitally sign credentials, providing cryptographic proof of their authenticity and enabling verifiers to trust the information contained within them.
Maintain Reputation: Establish trust by ensuring the accuracy and validity of issued credentials.
